About:
Guzmania Ultra plants are perennial plants in the bromeliad family. There are over 120 different guzmania plants. These tropical beauties are known as epiphytic plants and attach to trees with roots that never reach the soil. Guzmania ultra is one of the most common bromeliads grown as a houseplant, and one of the most stunning. Its green leaves are topped by clusters of red, orange, yellow, purple, or white flowers. Leaves are thin and dark green.
Flowering season: Summer
Planting Media: Soilrite mix would be a perfect planting medium for all kinds of plants. If required pebbles (1-1.5cm) can be added to the mix to make sure the planting medium is well drained.
Water: Water most bromeliads enough to keep them moist, but never wet or saturated. You’ll find many bromeliads are drought tolerant and survive if you forget to water them from time to time.
Sunlight: Indoors, most bromeliads grow best in medium or bright light. Some can take direct sun on their foliage, but others prefer the protection of a sheer curtain or translucent blinds if grown in a sunny window.
