Haemanthus Multiflorous also known as Scadoxus multiflorus, is a bulbous perennial that is grown as an ornamental plant for its brilliantly colored flowers, either in containers or in the ground in where the climate is suitable. The flowers are produced in an umbel at the top of a leafless stem. The umbel of flowers is more-or-less globe shaped, with 10 to 200 individual flowers. Each flower has a stalk typically 15 to 45 mm long. The tepals, filaments of the stamens and the style are all scarlet fading to pink. It is a member of the Amaryllis family. Each bulb produces 6-7 bright green leaves and one flower head per season.

Available Month: January to March.
Planting Media: Use ordinary garden soil thoroughly mulched with sand and well decayed cow manure. The soil must be well drained.
Water: Water during growth period and stop watering when the foliage turns yellow then let the bulb go dormant.
Sunlight: Grows well in bright sunlight.
Pot culture: Use 8 inches pot to plant one bulb for proper growth.
