Gloriosa Rothschildiana grows 5-6 feet high, producing many lily-like flowers of exceptional beauty over an extended period. When in bud, the flower faces downward but when in bloom, the petals are strongly reflexes backwards. The flowers are 4 to 5 inches wide with wavy-edged petals that are ruby red with yellow bases and edges and large bright green stamens and pistils that spread out below the petals. It will quickly grow up a trellis using the tendrils formed at the tips of the leaves, growing from 5 to 6 ft. tall and 1 to 3 ft. wide. All parts of this plant are poisonous. The same are suitable for potting and are long lasting cut flowers.

Planting Media: Use ordinary garden soil thoroughly mulched with sand and well decayed cow manure. The soil must be well drained.
Water: Keep watering till the new growth appears and keep the soil moist but not soggy.
Sunlight: Prefers sunny to partial shade part of your garden or indoors.
Pot Culture: Use 8 inches pot for each tuber. Plant the tubers horizontally covering the entire tuber 3 inch below the planting media. Keep the pink eyes of the tuber at least 10 inch apart if planted in the garden. Gloriosa need a support to climb. When in full bloom support for the flower is useful.
