Ctenanthe oppenheimiana, the giant bamburanta or never never plant, is a species of flowering plant  of family Marantaceae. The Never Never Plant is from the Prayer Plant family, Marantaceae, who all have a stunning habit of raising their leaves at night and lowering them during the day. The Never Never Plant, Ctenanthe oppenheimiana, makes a particularly dramatic show of this, folding completely vertical at night and displaying the dark red undersides of its leaves, and unfolding its leaves 90º or more during the day. It is an evergreen perennial . The cultivar ‘Tricolor’ is an ornamental house plant variety. This plant can grow to more than 1 m (3.3 ft) tall and broad, with long narrow leaves up to 40 cm (16 in) in length. These are dark green, heavily and irregularly marked with cream stripes, and wine-red on the undersides. Ctenanthe oppenheimiana tricolor is a true eye-catcher growing pink and green lance-shaped leaves.

Flowering Season: N/A 

Planting Media: Soilrite mix would be a perfect planting medium for all kinds of plants.  If required pebbles (1-1.5cm) can be added to the mix to make sure the planting medium is well drained.

Water: Water thoroughly when the first inch of the soil becomes dry to the touch, stopping when water starts draining from the drainage holes. Avoid overwatering as roots are susceptible to rot.

Sunlight: It likes a lot of diffused light, but direct sunlight will cause the leaves to fade and lose its precious markings. Because it grows on the canopy floor, it can tolerate shade, but it grows much better with indirect light.
