Hedychium gardnerianum known by many names such as the Kahili ginger, Kahila garland-lily or ginger lily, is a species of flowering plant in the ginger family Zingiberaceae. It is an erect herbaceous perennial growing to 8 ft tall with long, bright green leaves clasping the tall stems. They produce very fragrant pale yellow and red flowers are held in dense spikes above the foliage. It is an excellent variety of bulbous plant used for landscaping in cooler areas.

Planting Media: Use ordinary garden soil thoroughly mulched with sand and well decayed cow manure. The soil must be well drained.
Water: Water regularly and thoroughly whenever the surface of soil is dry. Keep the soil moist and avoid overwatering.
Sunlight: It prefers full sunlight but can also be kept in partly shaded place of your garden.
Pot culture: Use a 12 inches pot to plant one rhizome for proper growth.
