Anacampseros Rufescens

Plants in the genus Anacampseros Rufescens are perennial. In habit they are small under shrubs or sprawling herbs that may form dense mats. Mature plants of many of the species form a small caudexes or a tuberous root-stock. The leaves of most species are succulent and may be either lanceolate in shape or rounded. The arrangement of leaves on a stem is alternate. The leaves in most species are closely spaced, and in some species they are small and more or less hidden by papery or filamentous fascicled stipules.

Planting Media: Use soilrite mix thoroughly mixed with sand and pebbles (1-1.5cm). The soil mixture must be well drained.

Water: The best way to water succulents is with the “soak and dry” method. Soak the soil completely then let the soil dry out completely before watering again. And make sure the succulents are in a well draining soil in a pot with a drainage hole.

For indoor succulents, it is generally best if water doesn’t get on top of the leaves. If it sits on a leaf for too long it can cause rot. This isn’t as much of an issue for outdoor succulents because there is more airflow and the water will dry out quicker.

Sunlight: Anacampseros Rufescens prefers light shade to full Sun. They do best in areas that receive plenty of bright, partial sunlight.
