About:
Faucaria felina also known as ‘Tiger’s Jaw’ is a compact, leaf succulent that forms unusual clumps of fleshy, boat-shaped, toothed leaves. The “teeth” along its edges are used to collect moisture. Faces of leaves are dark green to grey-green, smooth, or with white dots and crystals in the outer walls. The leaves can grow up to 3 inches (7.5 cm) long and up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide. It produces daisy like yellow to orange flowers which can grow up to 5 cm in diameter.
Planting Media: Use soilrite mix thoroughly mixed with sand and pebbles (1-1.5cm). The soil mixture must be well drained.
Water: The best way to water succulents is with the “soak and dry” method. Soak the soil completely then let the soil dry out completely before watering again. And make sure the succulents are in a well draining soil in a pot with a drainage hole.
For indoor succulents, it is generally best if water doesn’t get on top of the leaves. If it sits on a leaf for too long it can cause rot. This isn’t as much of an issue for outdoor succulents because there is more airflow and the water will dry out quicker.
Sunlight: It does well in full sunlight but also prefers partially shady places.
