About:
Pilea peperomioides also known as Chinese money plant, is an erect, evergreen perennial plant, with shiny, dark green, circular leaves up to 10 cm in diameter on long petioles. The leaves are described as peltate circular, with the petiole attached near the center. The plant is completely hairless. It grows to around 30 cm tall and wide in the wild, sometimes more indoors. The stem is greenish to dark brown, usually unbranched and upright, and lignified at the base when mature. It produce small whitish pale green sometimes tinged pink flowers during spring.
Flowering season: Spring
Planting Media: Soilrite mix would be a perfect planting medium for all kinds of plants. If required pebbles (1-1.5cm) can be added to the mix to make sure the planting medium is well drained.
Water: Water thoroughly when the first inch of the soil becomes dry to the touch, stopping when water starts draining from the drainage holes. If the leaves turn yellow it is a sign of overwatering which must be strictly avoided.
Sunlight: Pilea peperomioides likes bright indirect light. It should be rotated regularly to keep the main stem growing upright because the plant will turn all of its leaves towards the sunlight.
