Canna is the most well known and popular tropical foliage plant used in gardening. Canna Pretoria is a very special canna variety which has light glossy green leaves, wonderfully striped with bands of white, cream and yellow. Used in both gardens and containers, Pretoria is all about texture and a brighter green leaf than you’ll see in any garden. A lovely, variegated foliage canna with tall cultivars has been known to exceed 6 feet high producing bright orange blooms of Pretoria.

Bulb Size: 1-2 eyed Rhizomes

Flowering Season: Mid Summer to Early Fall

Available Month: March to May

Planting Media: Use ordinary garden soil thoroughly mulched with sand and well decayed cow manure. The soil must be well drained.

Water: With masses of broad fleshy leaves, cannas do best with a good supply of water, so water the plants during the summer if the rainfall is less. We need to water freely in a dry spell.

Sunlight: Canna Pretoria prefers full sunlight but can tolerate partial shade and some shelter.

Pot culture: A single rhizome can be planted in one 8 inches pot for proper growth.
