Vriesea Poelmania

Vriesea Poelmania is one of the many colorful blooms of vriesea species which produces tiny red colored flowers which remain up to six weeks when kept is bright light. This plant with its green foliage and bright red inflorescence makes it an exceptional indoor decorative ornamental desk plant. It measures 15 inches to 18 inches in height and about 12 inches to 15 inches in diameter. 

Flowering season: Summer

Planting Media: Soilrite mix would be a perfect planting medium for all kinds of plants.  If required pebbles (1-1.5cm) can be added to the mix to make sure the planting medium is well drained.

Water: Regular but moderate watering is called for because Vriesea doesn’t usually require a lot of water. Unlike other plants, keeping the potting mixture just barely moist, and mist the foliage on a regular basis should be enough. In spring and summer keep the soil mix barely moist and check that water drains properly. In fall and winter limit the watering and wait for the soil to be thoroughly dry before watering again.

Sunlight: Vriesea can’t stand the sun’s rays when they touch its leaves directly. Good light but no direct sunlight is what’s needed.
